River Song Sanctuary Yoga Retreat
Aug 9-13, 2026

Retreat Details
This unique yoga retreat features the Rouleau Method, a modern movement practice that blends yoga with movement science to build strength, stability, mobility, and resilience for everyday life. Designed for all ages and experience levels, the retreat focuses on healthy movement mechanics, injury prevention, body and breath awareness, mental well-being, and long-term vitality. Participants will develop practical skills to stay active, independent, balanced, and pain-free while exploring yoga and meditation as tools for recovery, longevity, and personal sanctuary.
Explore the fascinating world of Movement Science through a yoga-inspired lens. This workshop examines the difference between exercise and truly skillful movement, and how the way we move today shapes our future health, mobility, and independence. Learn practical tools and sustainable movement strategies that support strength, resilience, and longevity—helping you stay active, capable, and thriving through every stage of life.
Workshop #2: Injury-Free Yoga
Yoga is a powerful practice, but like any physical discipline, it can lead to injury when movement patterns and body mechanics are misunderstood. In this workshop, we’ll explore the most common injuries experienced by yogis, why they happen, and how to prevent them before they begin. Through an understanding of the 5 Biological Laws of the Human Body, you’ll learn practical tools to move more intelligently, build resilience, and create a sustainable yoga practice that keeps you safe, strong, and thriving for years to come.
Workshop #3: The Longevity Connection
Longevity isn’t about resisting aging—it’s about embracing the process of becoming. It’s not about staying young forever, but about becoming more fully yourself with each passing year. Your body adapts to what you practice, your beliefs influence how you live, and your capacity for longevity is rooted in presence, freedom, and resilience.
In this workshop, we’ll explore the remarkable way the human body is designed to adapt, heal, grow, and restore itself. Through the lens of movement science, yoga, and mindful living, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how daily habits, movement patterns, recovery, and mindset shape long-term vitality and well-being. This is not wishful thinking—it’s biology.

| Barbara's Activated Asana retreat was simply amazing. “It is a great experience for anyone interested in understanding how muscles work in our bodies and how we can activate them and protect ourselves from injury when exercising. The retreat is a mixture of workshop learning as well as active practice. This knowledge has improved the way I move throughout the day as well as how to practice my yoga and other activities without injuring myself. Barbara's music was a special addition to the course. Participants don't have to be practicing a lot of yoga to learn and benefit from this retreat. You just need a desire to improve your body strength in a healthy way to make your life the best it can be. I highly recommend this retreat.” |
