Social Media & Marketing Coordinator

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with updating REO web site using content management system

Guest Services Assistant Manager

Skill Requirements:
  1. Previous customer service experience (with references)
  2. Effective client service skills, such as, communicating, interacting and developing relationships with customers via phone, email and in person
  3. Familiarity with point of sale systems, custom reservations and logistics programs
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Ensuring all needs and expectations of the guests are met and exceeded
  2. Overseeing guest check-in and departures
  3. Informing guests of all products, services & itineraries for their all-inclusive adventure packages
  4. Organizing and scheduling guest activities
  5. Communicating regularly with guests regarding their stay and maintaining logistics reports

Housekeeping Assistant

Skill Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in housekeeping and cleaning (with references)
  2. Great attitude towards living and working outdoors
  3. Willing to work hard to uphold the company standards of resort cleanliness and accommodation presentation
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Housekeeping Manager and any other co-workers assigned to housekeeping
  2. General resort cleanliness and maintaining accommodations including keeping resort grounds tidy, cleaning of bathrooms and showers daily (including restocking supplies),
  3. Ensuring that the glamping tents are cleaned and prepared with required linen prior to guest's arrival, making sure all linen and towels are washed, and keeping the laundry room organized and tidy
  4. Other responsibilities include sweeping cabin tent floors, decks and walkways, removing spider webs, cleaning mirrors and furniture, and watering flowers daily
  5. Communicate regularly with supervisors and managers to find out daily tasks and changes to schedules

Outdoor Recreation Guide Apprentice

  3. Strong work ethic and communication skills
  4. Familiarization with pre-trip and post-trip activities
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Obtaining full knowledge of REO Packages, facilities, amenities and policies
  2. Ensuring that guest communications are timely, professional and courteous
  3. Assist Trip Leaders on activities by helping with pre-trip planning, logistics and equipment preparation and post-trip activities including guest care, clean-up and follow-up
  4. Provide a memorable experience for participants
  5. Attend reqired meetings, training sessions and product familiarization trips

Assistant Cook

Skill Requirements:
  1. Previous cooking and/or meal prep experience (with references)
  2. Great attitude towards living and working outdoors
  3. Hands on leader in the kitchen
  4. Able to prepare a wide range of high quality banquet-style meals, entrees, salads, and desserts with the help of the Head Cook
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure quality meals are prepared, well-presented and served on time
  2. Provide for special dietary restrictions and allergies, including daily vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options
  3. Help plan/prepare meals for 2-3 special events of up to 120 people
  4. Assist Head Cook with inventory
  5. Maintain safe storage conditions for all foods; ensure fresh quality of food and minimal waste
  6. Engage and communicate with guests
  7. Ensure the highest level of sanitation for kitchen cleanlieness and uphold BC health code regulations and kitchen permit

Compensation: $15.60 per hour; 35+ hours a week

Senior Trip Leader: Nahatlatch River (Class 4+)

Requirements:
  1. Min 5 years raft guiding & trip leading experience on technical Class 3-4 rivers (provide list of rivers/trips)
  2. Rescue 3 Whitewater Rescue Technician certification or Class 4-5 safety kayak experience
  3. Wilderness First Aid OR comparable training (min 40 hours)
  4. Raft guide instructor training experience
  5. BC Class 2 or 4 bus license or equivalent
  6. Cell phone with plan that works in our area (Fraser Canyon BC) & waterproof watch
  7. Speak and write fluently in English

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Organize and trip lead rafting trips on Class 2, 3, 4 and 5 whitewater
  2. Greet guests and oversee guest care, assess medical issues, client needs
  3. Ensure guest safety while adhering to REO risk management protocols on-river & off-river
  4. Train and mentor junior guides and assist with fam trips, sign-off trips and river exams
  5. Prepare and implement training of basic swiftwater rescue techniques
  6. Prepare weekly work schedules for Bryan’s approval (guides, drivers and safety support)
  7. Manage and approve all river guide and staff timesheets for bi-monthly payroll
  8. Organize the repair and maintenance of all rafting and river equipment
  9. Other duties as assigned by resort managers

Trip Leader (TL): Rafting Part-Time, Casual & Weekends or Full-Time

Will consider full-time, part-time, casual or weekend-only applicants.
Location - REO Rafting Resort, Nahatlatch Valley. Seasonal, May - September. Must have:
  1. Min 4 years raft guiding & trip leading experience on technical Class 3-4 rivers (provide list of rivers/trips)
  2. Valid first-aid certification (min 30 hrs), CPR C.
  3. Rescue 3 Whitewater Rescue Technician certification or Class 4-5 safety kayak experience
  4. Valid BC Class 4 drivers license (can drive small shuttle vehicles)
  5. Cell phone with plan that works in our area (Fraser Canyon)
  6. Speak and write fluently in English.
TL - 1 $23 CDN per hour (have all 6 requirements including BC Class 4 license)
TL - 2 $24 CDN per hour  (have all 6 requirements + BC Class 2 bus license)
Plus $50 travel allowance per weekend

Full-time Trip Leaders can opt to live off-site (cover own lodging and meals) or on-site (free shared lodging in staff units; $400 monthly fee plan fee). 

In addition to guiding and leading river trips, all trip leader positions include working in food preparation and clean-up, raft repair, resort/camp maintenance, and other duties as required.

Our popular volunteer program is ideal for adults of all ages who enjoy the great outdoors, love adventure, and are willing and able to meet the needs of our guests.

Volunteers can choose our Weekend Warrior option or our popular Volunteer Week. Our Volunteer Week participants come from all over the world, and some stay on for several months because they love it!

Here's how it works: volunteers live, work and play at the REO resort on the Nahatlatch River. We provide all meals, beverages, shared cabin tent lodging and a range of adventure activities. In exchange, volunteers offer 28 hours per week (25 hours if not participating in any activities).

Depending on skills, interests and our bookings, our volunteers may help prepare and serve meals, assist with kitchen and camp clean-up, housekeeping, trip logistics, lands and buildings maintenance, new construction, guest services, etc. Please let us know what your skills, interests and experience is when you apply.

Volunteers are able to go rafting (at least once a week), and enjoy other activities that may be going on at REO (lake paddling, kayaking, hiking, etc) and of course, enjoy our campfire entertainment.

Our premier activity is whitewater rafting. We are fortunate to have the most exhilarating river in British Columbia and one of the best rafting and kayaking rivers in Canada. We have 37 Class 3-5 rapids in just 10 km, surely one of the most exciting in the world! But, the Nahatlatch valley has much, much more. We offer paddle-boarding on the lakes, kayaking, wilderness hiking, intro rock climbing and zipline rides, scenic float trips on the Fraser River, late summer rafting on the Thompson, and a range of resort services including meals, entertainment and spa services.

All staff must have diverse skills and be willing, able and properly certified to do a number of different tasks at the resort. These tasks may include driving, kitchen duties, resort and equipment maintenance, construction, clean-up and housekeeping.

Our resort is located right on the Nahatlatch River and we have over 1 km of river frontage in a very beautiful and private setting. The area is known as the Fraser Canyon, just 2.5 hours from Vancouver in southwestern British Columbia. We are open late-May to September, with the busiest months being July and August. Many of our guests come to REO simply to enjoy nature and our amazing setting along the river.
