Deposit and Cancellation Policies

In order to provide the best service and experience possible REO requires advanced bookings. Not only does this give us time to prepare it ensures that you are able to secure your spot when it best suits you. Here are some FAQ's about our policies.


Advanced bookings

There is no exact time frame as to how far in advance you need to book your trip unless you are booking a camp, retreat or Club REO family vacation.  However, many trips tend to sell out and therefore booking as far in advance as possible is recommended.  This ensures that you will secure the dates, activities and lodging choices that are ideal for you.  For bookings more than 4 months in advance, please call the office at 604.461.7238, 800.736.7238 or email us to find out about early booking discounts.

Payment deadlines

Songwriters Retreat - 90 days prior to trip;  Club REO Family Vacations, Irish Dance Camp, Stein River Trips - 60 days prior; All other trips - 30 days prior to trip.

Refund policy

If you cancel your trip after making a payment you may be eligible for a refund or credit depending on how far in advance it is.  If you receive credit it may be used at REO Rafting Resort at a future date for packages available at the time of booking.  Credits are transferable but must be used towards a similar package.  Booking cancellation policies:

Daytrips, Getaways, Full Montys, Stags, Stagettes and Ladies Weekends - full payment required at the time of booking to reserve space; cancel over 30 days in advance receive a full refund less a $50 cancellation fee per person or full credit valid for 2 years from trip date; cancel 30 days or less in advance receive a full credit voucher less a $75 cancellation fee per person; cancel less than 3 days of departure and no shows receive no refunds or credit vouchers.

Club REO Family Vacations - $100 deposit per person to reserve space; full payment required 60 days prior to trip; cancel over 30 days in advance receive refund less $100 cancellation fee per person or full credit valid for 2 years from trip date; cancel 30 or less days in advance receive credit (valid for 2 years from trip date) less $100 cancellation fee per person; cancel less than 3 days of departure and no shows receive no refunds or credit vouchers.

Songwriters Retreat - $200 deposit per person to reserve space; full payment required 90 days prior to trip; cancel over 30 days in advance receive refund less $200 cancellation fee; cancel 30 days or less in advance receive refund less $400 cancellation fee per person; cancel less than 3 days of departure and no shows receive no refunds or credit.

Irish Dance Camp and Stein River Trips - $200 deposit per person to reserve space; full payment required 60 days prior to trip; cancel over 30 days in advance receive refund less $50 cancellation fee per person; cancel 30 or less days in advance receive credit (valid for 2 years from trip date) less $100 cancellation fee per person; cancel less than 3 days of departure and no shows receive no refunds or credit vouchers.

School and Youth Groups - $25 to $100 deposit per person to reserve space; full payment required 60 days prior to trip; cancel over 30 days in advance receive refund less $25 cancellation fee per person; cancel 30 or less days in advance receive credit (valid for 2 years from trip date) less $75 cancellation fee per person; cancel less than 3 days of departure and no shows receive no refunds or credit vouchers.

REO reserves the right to cancel a trip because of weather, water levels, or safety concerns. In this case full refunds will be issued.  REO reserves the right to change rivers or river sections because of weather, water levels, or safety concerns.  If there is a price difference between trips, a refund for the difference will be issued.

Changing dates

Yes, you can change the dates of your trip as long as it is more than 3 days prior to your departure date. We will do our best to accommodate the change but cannot guarantee the requested dates will be available.  If you would like to change the dates, the best thing is to do it as far in advance as possible. A $50 per person administration fee will be charged to re-schedule trips less than 3 days prior to departure date.  Rescheduled trips must be within the same operating season.

Deposits

Deposits are not required for Daytrips, Getaways and Full Monty's.  Full payment is required to reserve seats.  Deposits are required for camps, retreats, Stein River trips, Club REO family vacations and to reserve any accommodations.  Please see deposit amounts below.

Deposit Amounts for Specialty Trips and Club REO Family Vacations

  • Club REO Family - $100 deposit pp required to reserve space; full payment 60 days prior.
  • Songwriter Retreats - $200 deposit pp to reserve space; full payment 90 days prior.
  • Irish Dance Camp - $200 deposit pp to reserve space; full payment 60 days prior.
  • Stein River Trips - $200 deposit pp to reserve space; full payment 30 days prior.
  • Any booking with lodging (cabin tents or log cabin) - $100 non-refundable deposit pp to reserve.
These are specialty packages and tend to get booked up quickly.  Reservations far in advance are recommended, along with a deposit to secure your space.  These packages also require more planning and therefore require an earlier commitment from participants.
