The Coquihalla is our most accessible river to the Greater Vancouver area. Cascading down the western slopes of the Coastal Mountains near Hope BC, the Coquihalla is only 90 minutes from the heart of Vancouver, yet is worlds apart.
The Coquihalla is non-stop action from beginning to end. The Coquihalla features twenty Class 2-3 rapids and a few Class 4 rapids including Committed, Boulder Drop and Initiation.
Downstream from our take-out, the Coquihalla begins its final descent to the Fraser River through an incredible granite-rock canyon. This Class 6 section features numerous waterfalls and vertical drops. All overnight guests in June, July and August and receive a free photo CD of their trip.
Our minimum age to raft the Coquihalla is 10 years, subject to river levels and experience. Participants must be in good physical condition and being able to swim is an asset.
Take the Bus: REO offers round-trip bus rides from Vancouver to the river and back. Group rates start at $160 pp based on a group of 20 or more. Organizers that fill a bus (45 seats) receive a $450 CDN commission from REO and a free trip. Bus departure times can be arranged to meet the needs of your group. The total time required for the trip, including transportation, is 8 hours from the Vancouver area.
