Our Adventure Resort
Check out our photo gallery for pictures of the highlights of REO Rafting Resort. The Nahatlatch (pronounced Na-hat-latch) is a very special place. The jade-green color of the river reflects its pristine source, the glaciers and snowfields of the coastal mountains.
From elevations above 8,000 feet, the headwaters drop quickly to the upper Nahatlatch valley, a series of beautiful lakes and meandering river sections. The upper valley is 27 Km (17 mi) long and lies at an elevation of 1000-1100 feet. The views of the surrounding snow-capped mountain peaks and ancient forests of spruce, fir, pine and cedar are spectacular. The main tributary of the upper Nahatlatch valley is Mehatl Creek, an incredible wilderness park.
The lower Nahatlatch valley from Francis Lake to the Fraser River is just 13 Km (8 miles), yet the river drops 600 feet with 37 whitewater rapids. The lower valley is an intoxicating mix of white water, jade-green pools, rugged shale-rock canyons, and panoramic mountains and forests. REO is located in this lower valley, 3 Km upstream from the confluence of the Fraser River.
REO: The Perfect Location
The REO Rafting Adventure Resort is ideally located to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Nahatlatch.
- Surrounded by whitewater. Our resort is surrounded by whitewater. Upstream the river flows over and around car-sized boulders in the Class III+ rapid named Rock 'n' Roll. Downstream from our adventure resort, the river enters a steep shale-rock canyon on its final descent to the Fraser. Across from our river edge dining deck, a beautiful waterfall cascades into the river. The energized sound of the river is with you 24 hours a day.
Superb summer climate. Our resort receives 300 blue-sky days a year and records average summer highs of 85 F (29 C). At only 500 feet above sea level, the resort is 7,000 feet below nearby mountain peaks. Our hot summer days are cooled by the river for perfect summer time camping and whitewater rafting. Our near bug-free environment is also unique and greatly appreciated by our guests. It is difficult to find a more ideal location for summer fun, anywhere in Canada.
- World-class recreation. The Nahatlatch is a rarity among rivers due to its super-continuous whitewater. Kayakers and rafting guests come from around the world to paddle its exciting Class 3-5 whitewater rapids. Not only is the river valley a mecca for paddling, it is also the perfect location for mountain biking, hiking, whitewater canoeing and fishing.
Our rafting adventure resort offers whitewater paddle raft trips and adventure vacations with fishing, hiking, whitewater kayaking, and rock rappelling. The REO Adventure Resort is located in British Columbia Canada, near Vancouver BC, Whistler BC, Kelowna BC, and Seattle and Bellingham Washington, USA.
Our beautiful resort in the Canadian wilderness offers camping, cabin tents, log cabin, hot tub, sauna and beach overlooking incredible whitewater rapids.
