Volunteer Adventure Vacations

Volunteer Adventure Vacations are ideal for anyone looking for some adventure, excitement. Past volunteers have included travelers, housewives, IT professionals, backpackers, etc... REO Rafting Adventure Resort offers volunteer programs that range from a weekend to two months in length. All volunteer programs include camping, 3 meals a day with snacks & beverages, work experience and an introduction to a variety of adventure experiences. The volunteer programs are a great way to make new friends and experience the thrills and spills of learning new adventure sports.

Volunteers are trained, provide work effort at the resort and add value to our guest's experiences in exchange for meals, beverages, camping, resort amenities and adventure activities.

Volunteer Week (or longer) - each week includes:

1.5 hour training session on first day
50 hours of work experience (approx) at the resort assisting with trip logistics, camp maintenance, and meal preparation & clean-up
Whitewater rafting, rock rappelling and choice of 1 or more adventure (subject to availability)
3 meals per day & beverages
7 nights camping in own tent
Full use of resort amenities

Volunteer Weekend includes:

1.5 hour training session on Friday afternoon/evening
15 hours of work experience (approx) in the kitchen*
Whitewater rafting on Sunday afternoon
6 meals & beverages
2 nights camping in own tent
Full use of resort amenities

*As a kitchen volunteer you are to check in with our kitchen manager on Friday evening to receive full details of your weekend duties and general information about the resort.

Volunteer vacations are available from June to September. A maximum of four volunteers per week are accepted. Multiple weeks may be accepted depending on quality of applicants. To qualify for this experience you must have: volunteer adventure vacations vancouver bc

strong work ethic, personal and work references, grade 12 education or higher, good communication skills in English, pleasant personality & appearance, drug-free & non-smoking lifestyle, passport or drivers license, proof of medical coverage and be 18 years and older.

What to bring: Each volunteer must provide a tent, sleeping bag, clothing and personal items. Upgrades to cabin tent lodging if available (at reduced rates).

Exclusions: REO does not provide or guarantee the provision of transportation to and from the resort. REO will provide free shuttle service from Boston Bar, BC to the resort for those volunteers taking the Greyhound bus. REO will try to help with return transportation from Vancouver whenever possible, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to arrange a ride for volunteers. REO does not serve alcoholic beverages but volunteers are welcome to bring their own provided that its consumption does not adversely affect their work experience or the enjoyment of our guests and they are of legal drinking age.
