Volunteer Outdoor Week
Ideal for Backpackers, Travelers and Students
REO Rafting Adventure Resort offers a 1-week program for volunteers that includes work experience and an introduction to a variety of adventure experiences. The Volunteer Adventure Week is a great way to make new friends and experience the thrills and spills of learning new adventure sports.
The volunteer adventure week includes 50 hours of work experience at the resort assisting REO employees with trip logistics, camp maintenance, and meal preparation and clean-up. Each volunteer receives a one-week room and board package that includes three meals per day, plus beverages and snacks. The best rewards though are experiencing the best of BC adventure: white water rafting, rock rappelling, lake paddling, and hiking. The Volunteer Adventure Week starts every Sunday throughout the summer from late-June to early September. A maximum of four volunteers per week are accepted. Applications and phone interviews are required. Multiple weeks may be accepted depending on quality of applicants. To qualify for this experience travelers, backpackers and students must have:
- Strong work ethic
- Personal and work references
- Grade 12 education or higher
- Good communication skills in English
- Pleasant personality and appearance
- Drug-free lifestyle
- 19 years and older
- Passport or Drivers License
- Proof of medical coverage

We guarantee that the Volunteer Adventure Week will be a highlight of your summer.Located 3 hours Northeast of Vancouver, REO overlooks the jade-green Nahatlatch River, one of Canada's most beautiful rivers. The Resort features stunning mountain, forest and river views, and offers amenities such as cabin tents, chef-prepared meals, large hot-tub and sauna, hot showers, private beach, and nightly campfires. Enjoy the beautiful summer climate at REO that includes more blue-sky days than anywhere else in BC.
Details
Volunteers are trained and provide work effort at the resort and add value to our guest's experiences in exchange for meals, beverages, camping, resort amenities and three or more adventure activities. This one-week Volunteer Outdoor week includes:- 50 hours of work experience at the resort
- Whitewater rafting, rock rappelling and choice of 1 or more adventures (subject to availability)
- 3 meals per day & beverages
- 7 nights camping in own tent
- Full use of resort amenities
Exclusions: REO does not provide or guarantee the provision of transportation to and from the resort. REO will provide free shuttle service from Boston Bar, BC to the resort for those volunteers taking the Greyhound bus. REO will try to help with return transportation from Vancouver whenever possible, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to arrange a ride for volunteers. REO does not serve alcoholic beverages but volunteers are welcome to bring their own provided that its consumption does not adversely affect their work experience or the enjoyment of our guests (min age for volunteers is 19).
